11:11? help?

maybe I'm showing my age more than I realize, or maybe I am just not 'with it' anymore, lol. But what is 11:11? What does it mean? where did it come from? How did it start? I see this all the time on myspace, but have no idea. One survey bulletin even asked something like, "Do u make a wish everyday at 11:11?" Is it a time? For what? Are u supposed to make a wish then? Why?

I'm going to guess that it originates from the fact that the Germans singed the World war I armistance on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1911 (in other words, 11/11/11 at or about 11:11).

It is just that all 4 #'s are the same, its a myth that if you wish something on11:11 it will come true.

Yeah its just 4 of the same numbers so its supposed to be a lucky minute and you make a wish. Its like the touching metal when you cross railroad tracks and make a wish, same thing.

When you look at the time and it happens to be 11:11, make a wish. It's just like witnessing a shooting star.

it's just because the time.. it's all 1's and no other hour can do that. with all four numbers being the same number.. like 2:22 it's only 3 numbers where 11:11 is all 4..

it's supposed to be special but I just don't see it.
