I just bought a new 1.1.4 iphone. How do I add applications on the phone ?

I am completely clueless on how to use my new iphone. Any help you provide me with will be useful. I would love to download applications that make my phone easier to use, icons that link me to applications such as facebook or myspace without having to type the address into safari, games, and so on... I would prefer free applications !!

if you mean jailbreak witch will void you warranty go to ziphone.com or to just add web clips witch bookmarks on your home screen just go to any web site you want on iPhone go to safarie on iphone go to a web site you want and touch the + the bottom of the iPhone browser
