How do i fix my pc running xp home?
all my desktop icons disappeared as well as my task bar and start menu. i turn on my pc and when my desktop appears i get nothin but a blank screen other than the wallpaper image, nor does it work in safe mode. i also tried a system restore and it says cannot restore. when windows opens i get an error report dialog box sayin windows has encountered a problem and needs to close and askin to send error report or not i send. it but nothin changhes. also i can click to see the data collection policy on the web option and it opens my internet explorer. everything is still on my pc i never lost anything i know of yet either. i know this cuz when i wanna upload like a new photo on myspace or somethin like that i select the browse tab and it gives me a dialog box that i can access my files and folders. other than that i cannot access anything on my pc.

task bar
move your mouse to all corners of your screen
untill you see up and down arrows
left click and hold
then pull up down -etc
untill task bar is where you want it
right click and choose lock task bar
these steps below will help clean up your computer
In Internet explorer at top of window select tools - then delete browser history
- then another box will open - select delete all- this will not remove your book marks
-Then close explorer then open again .At first pages will be slow once
