What should I do about harassment?

I've been "harassed" for 4 years. Up until this last month it hasn't been to crazy. But now they have hacked into my e-mail and posted my e-mails on their myspace page. I had the police call them with a warning and it worked for about 2 weeks and now they are back at it. I've blocked their numbers and blocked them from e-mailing me and AIM but since they got into my e-mail they got my yahoo answers stuff, created their own account and keep sending me e-mails from yahoo answers. I deleted my account and started a new one. Most of the crap they do is undetectable, I think if it went to court I wouldn't have enough evidence for the court to do anything anyway. I've tried fighting back and I've tried ignoring them...nothing works. I don't know what to do! Advice would be greatly appriciated!!

What you need to do is to send them an email stating that you are tired of the harassment and that you are keeping everything they send you through email and IM and will be turning it over to the police department If they are calling you then just let the call go to your answering machine or answering service whichever you have and make sure not to delete the calls. All of this will be evidence and charges can be pressed. Also you may want to call the District Attorney in your area and explain what is going on to them and they be able to guide you from a legal stand point as to what to do. You also need to call your Internet provider and have them change your IP address. Make sure you don't input any passwords on anyone else's computer and make your passwords a long series of letters and numbers so that it is harder to break. You can also download a program such as Hide My Ip which will hie your ip on emails and while surfing the net so you can make it harder for them to get your IP, this program also changes your IP every few minutes in order to keep your privacy.
