I need something to show my friends?

I am soo tired of all my non dancer friends dissing ballet. They all say " its just a bunch of turns and spins", " It's so girly" . or my favorite " I can do that. I need a video that i can post on myspace that shows how hard and painful ballet can be, but yet beautiful at the same time.

Yes, a lot of people think ballet is easy... When they say this, take it as a compliment. As a good dancer, you are to make ballet look easy. It shouldn't look as if you are straining 1000 muscles at the same time, in the most difficult ways possible! So, good for you is it looks easy!

Now, I don't know about the websight posting, but I am sure there are tons of pictures online showing the feet of dancers... not pretty, or girly. Blisters, broken toes, disformed feet... yeah, it's SOOO girly! Post a couple of those pics and see what they say!

Keep on doing what you love. Ballet is an art that many of us share.

Hey- if you really want them to see how hard it is, talk them into coming to a dance class with you (I am sure your instructor will allow them in 1 class for trial). It won't take but 1 extreme practice for them to change their tune!

GREAT buncha friends! (no offence). But just because you're into something that they're not does not give them the right to diss it at every turn. But by worring what they think kinda lets them win, tho i can understand u wanting to prove to them that its easier said than done. Haha, if they think they can do it maybe they should put their "money where their mouth is" and get up and do it. Maybe then they'll realize how retarded they're being!

I feel the same way cuz I do ballet and I hate all of the stupid comments! You should take them to see the new movie " Step Up." The girl in the movie does ballet and it shows how hard she works for senior showcase. Maybe you can find a short clip of the movie somewhere on the internet and put it on your myspace if you don't wanna go to the movies.
