I like this guy but don't know if he is gay or not, help!?

Alright so i really like this guy in my college but there was a rumor last year that he was gay, but someone asked him (i was there) and he was laughing and said he isn't. He has millions of friends who are girls (goes out places with them), likes to wear pink shirts, goes shopping (there is only 1 other guy i know who likes to do this and he is gay...), I know all of those things doesn't mean he is gay, I'm just confused cause of the rumor. He doesn't look gay, and on his myspace it says he is straight (but he may just be pretending because he is religious?) and he has had girlfriends but none in the college he is in now....he does hang out a lot with the guys in college too...

I also thought he liked me, and i catch him looking at me quite alot, but my friend keeps telling me he's gay...(and no she doesn't like him in that way) could he just be a 'girly guy'?

To tell you the truth an man who wears pink says to me that he is very comforable with his hetrosexuality (man enough not to have to worry, unless it is hot pink or something, thats just wrong).

I know alot of people in my course at Uni who apon meeting them I get the 'gay' vibe, but these days with all the metrosexuals it is hard to tell. So far all of them have turned out to be straight.

If you like him take your chance he might just say yes, and if he says no at least you know where you stand.
