How can I tell if he is gay but in denial?

I recently started dating this guy... we aren't "official" or anything but we've hooked up and he's made it clear that he likes me a lot. He's extremely fun and spontaneous, but my gaydar goes off at many red flags. My mom thinks he may be one of those guys in denial about being gay, although he's had past girlfriends.

However he is friends with ONLY girls, which I find odd. He's not the type to be like "hey dude, what's up man" and he talks about things that I imagine talking to other girls about.

He looks a bit feminine too and has this huge goofy smile... straight guys just don't smile wide open gayishly like that! He also posts girly pics of himself on myspace, with flowers behind his ears and such. I just find the situation strange and I feel possibly misled. Any ideas?

He seems a bit flamboyant, but I don't know about gay. I have a few friends that act like that but they are not gay. But then again it is possible that he could be gay, but not likley. If he was I don't think he would be having girlfriends to try and cover it up, it happens, but having many diffrent ones makes me question it. He might just be silly that way. But the only one who really knows is him.

sounds pretty gay to me. trust your gaydar. from what you've described, he sounds flaming. why are you still dating him? you're just his 'beard.' move on and find a straight man. and don't turn into one of those girls who always dates gay men. you seem pretty smart. you see the signs. how much more evidence do you need?
