Why do some men think it makes them a "playa" to have only girls for friends?

My brother uses this as a bragging point when he's talking about his Myspace or MSN accounts. He thinks it somehow makes him cool to have absolutely zero male friends. I've met a few other people like this in my life... In my opinion, the only thing it makes you is gay. Not that being gay is a bad thing, but it certainly doesn't make you "more straight".
