I need some advice about friends, please...???
i dont have alot of friends, but then again i do..? its weird i know, im homeschooled, and the only friends i see alot are from church...i see them at church(nowere outside of church). nobody really talks to me, but then when i talk to them they talk to me like we ARE friends. like for ex. when i do go to church, i could seriously sit there alone(before and after church) and not a soul would come up and talk to me.. but if i go up to them they kinda talk, not really..just like hi, smile and walk off.. :( its like they like me, but not enough to leave the friends they are already with..?
hhmm...i have alot of college friends, and they seem to like me more then my own age friends...and i seem to like them more, but you know how those kinda friendships work-out. im 15 by the way. i have facebook and myspace, and they talk to me on there like were 'close' but in real life they dont even look at me, well, they'll flash a fake smile at me if i say hi first. i dunno what 2 do..?? help?
I need some advice about friends, please...???Homeschooled kids are more isolated, and I've noticed they are often more mature -- which may explain why you get along with college aged students well. I know what you mean about how people act at church sometimes - it can seem superficial. I call these people "friendly acquaintances." Sometimes when people act odd, it is because they don't know how to act, either.
I think you should talk to your parents about needing some more friends. I don't think there is anything wrong with you -- you just need more opportunities to get to know people your own age. Ask your mother if you can invite someone over who is a potential friend, or ask if you can meet and go to the movies or shopping with the potential friend. You cannot develop a friendship that is "real" without spending a lot of quality time with that person. It is frustrating how long it does take to develop a good friendship. Talk to your parents about how together you can cultivate some opportunities to develop friendships.
