Why do people like to confine themselves to a social group?
i hear people saying "i'm emo" or "i'm goth" or whatever, and they sound pretty proud of it. why do they like to confine themselves to a social group?
to me, it sounds kind of... lame and myspace-y. :/
Why do people like to confine themselves to a social group?** Most times it is peer pressure**
Why do people like to confine themselves to a social group?it is lame but it gives people the feeling that they belong and aren't just another face in the crowd
Why do people like to confine themselves to a social group?People feel the need to belong....they say oh yeah im goth or emo but are they really? I'm thrown into the whole goth/emo stereotype but i don't think that i am goth/emo....I'm dark and weird but i'm not in a social group...more of an outcast
Why do people like to confine themselves to a social group? Our brains sort information out in catagories; that is the way it goes. [that is psychology stuff...] We all want to fit into 'a' group and then we claim it because we want to feel worthwhile and needed to ourselves and to others. Actually, we do not need to be a 'part' of any one group. We need to find out who we are ourselves without the dumb labeling. Frankly, putting ourselves into a 'group' labels us if you think seriously about that.
Cluster groups are many... think of for example: I am a woman, white, married, a mother, middle-aged, a student, I live in a home, I drive a car...blah-blah. Those are are some of all groups of catagories that fit me in particular. I AM all those things, but above all, I am ME. I chose to be me, not part of anybodies group. I don't like to follow anyone's crowd and never have. Why be a 'carbon copy'?
