Myspace off-site link?

I keep trying to put a link on my myspace page to my website by using the <a href=URL></a> code, but whenever I click on it, it goes to myspace.com and not my site. What am I doing wrong?

That happens for a few reasons:

1) A failure to put in the http://

2) a site myspace is blocking

3) bug in splink algorithm (I hate splinks).
