Am I the only one who finds this pathetic?

All those people on myspace, friendster, yahoo 360, ect....That sit there and get like over 1,000 friends and try to get all this attention by taking half naked pics to get even more friends. I saw one person(not band or comedian) who had 10,000 friends. Am I the only one who finds this to be a pathetic waste of time?

People don't have that many friends in the real life. It's also annoying to see fake pictures. Real fake, like photoshoped my face and body to look goregeous to people I don't know around the net.

It's a socializing network, and sometimes making as many friends as that can be highly beneficial...it can lead to new conncections, romances, popularity, and even job opportunities. I don't think its stupid.
